children & family ministry

Mission: To help children into a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to partner with and equip parents on how to pass the faith on to their children.

  • "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frame of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9

NURSERY

The nursery is a safe and nurturing environment that is utilized during our church service (for children who haven’t entered Kindergarten). All of our volunteers have completed a background check. Please note that the nursery is not available for events outside our normal weekend services.

FEEDING ROOM

Room 207 is a room for moms or dads who might need to feed or calm their baby.

Safety

We review all safety procedures with each teacher and volunteer so they are prepared should an emergency arise. We also use a dedicated check-in system and tracking system, so we ask parents to sign their children both in and out of our childcare program.

Special Needs

We hope each child feels included and knows how precious they are to God’s kingdom. That’s why we have a special buddy system for those children who want to participate during Sunday school, but might need a little more assistance or guidance to help them feel successful. We want to understand your child, so we encourage the parents who have any concerns to express them to the leaders involved so we can set up your child for success. We also have a Sensory Room which is for all age ranges that can help address a wide variety of student needs. Please contact Valerie Bartel for more information.

Volunteers

All volunteers who work with children are required to have a Kid-safe form or background check completed prior to working with children. We also have volunteer training at the beginning of each school year to review all existing policies.

First Communion

This is a special time for first-graders (and older) to learn more about the true meaning of communion. We find this is an opportunity for them to not only grow in their faith and spiritual development, but it helps build an even deeper connection with the parents as they take part in the classes with their children. The First Communion takes place during the Lent season.

SWitch (high school)

Connect Cafe: Sundays in the Outlet@ 8:30 - 9:40 am. September 18 through May 21
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
